San Vito Lo Capo si one of the first Sicilian resorts to ease the access to the beach for disabled people. This year the city is financing a project to introduce special wheelchairs on the beach for disable people. Two thumbs up for the initiative!

Well guess what? I have been there and it is a great beach. In Falcone many weehchair bound swimmers come to the beach. There is a ramp to wheel on and then the person is helped into the water and off they go just like an Olympic swimmer. It is an amazing sight.

Getting around on the beach is great but how about hand controlled rental cars? Anyone had any success in renting a hand controlled car in Italy (at a reasonable cost)?
