1st DAY / SATURDAY – CATANIA
Independent arrival at the UNA Hotel Palace Catania. Welcome cocktail, dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.
2nd DAY / SUNDAY – CATANIA/SIRACUSA/RAGUSA
After a buffet breakfast, depart for Siracusa and visit the archaeological area including the famous Latomie of the Paradise and Ear of Dionysus. Tour the island of Ortigia, historical center of the city. Visit Cathedral and Arethuse Fountain. Lunch is on your own. Depart for Ragusa and visit the enchanting historical center of Ibla, with its Baroque stunning palaces and churches. Enjoy an aperitif at a bar in the main square nearby the cathedral. Accommodation, dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel Poggio del Sole.
3rd DAY / MONDAY – RAGUSA/CALTAGIRONE/PIAZZA ARMERINA/AGRIGENTO
After a buffet breakfast, depart for Caltagirone, center of Sicilian ceramics production. Visit Piazza Armerina and the world-renown Villa Romana del Casale with its well preserved mosaics. Lunch at a restaurant with local specialties. Depart for Agrigento and visit the Valley of the Temples. Accommodation and dinner at the Hotel Dioscuri Bay Palace. After dinner, an unforgettable tour of the Valley of the Temples by night and back to the hotel.
4th DAY / TUESDAY – AGRIGENTO/ PALERMO/ MONREALE
After a buffet breakfast, depart for Palermo. Accommodation at the Hotel Sole. Free time and lunch is on your own. In the afternoon, visit Monreale Cathedral, one of the most beautiful monuments of the world, and the Benedictine Cloister in Arab-Norman style. Tour the historical center of Palermo, one of the largest in Europe (including the cathedral, Palatine Chapel and Royal Palace). Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.
5th DAY/ WEDNESDAY– PALERMO/SEGESTA/ERICE/TRAPANI//PALERMO
After a buffet breakfast, depart for Segesta to admire the archeological site surrounded by suggestive landscape. Visit the medieval village of Erice and enjoy a stroll through its tiny and characteristic streets. Lunch is on your own. The visit continues to Trapani and the still-functioning salt windmills. Return to Palermo. Dinner at a local restaurant. Panoramic tour of Palermo by night and back to the hotel.
6th DAY/ THURSDAY – PALERMO/CEFALU’/PARCO DEI NEBRODI/TAORMINA
After a buffet breakfast, depart for Cefalù and visit the Arab-Norman cathedral. Enjoy a walk through the streets of this small village and taste the delicious home-made ice cream. Continue to the Nebrodi Park. Lunch in the Miraglia Forest with local specialties. Visit Cesarò, Randazzo and Etna Park from the North side, which is surrounded by beautiful scenery. Arrival in Taormina. Accommodation, dinner and overnight stay at Hotel Villa Diodoro.
7th DAY/ FRIDAY – TAORMINA/ ETNA (OPTIONALl)/TAORMINA
After a buffet breakfast, enjoy a free morning or an optional excursion of Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. Depending on the weather, the excursion can reach up to 5,900 feet (1800 meters), from where you can view a fantastic panorama of the Ionic Sea . In the afternoon visit Taormina, a small medieval village called “the pearl of the Ionic Sea”. Enjoy free time for shopping, walk through the picturesque streets and/or visit the Roman – Greek theater on your own. In the late afternoon, return to the hotel. A farewell dinner is hosted at your hotel in the evening.
